Up From Slavery Character Building

The Booker T. Washington Society Library

Booker T. Washington, a champion of moral character, practical education, and economic opportunity, was a 'practical visionary'.

He foresaw that lasting racial equality could occur only by changing the hearts and improving the minds of both blacks and whites together.

And so, he dedicated his life to preparing others for that day.

The significance of this — at a time when when even speaking up benignly could be dangerous — must be appreciated and celebrated.

To that end, we dedicate this online library to house his life's work for free access and download to all. (More to be added as funds permit.)
